Intercultural competence in international management
A review of conceptual frameworks

This review compares the main conceptual frameworks used to understand managers' intercultural competence: national cultural dimensions, cultural intelligence and process models of intercultural competence. It shows that these approaches answer different questions — describing contexts, assessing individuals, developing people — and argues that they should be combined rather than opposed.
